Agartala (Tripura) [India], April 22 (ANI): On the occasion of World Earth Day, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha emphasised the collective responsibility of making the planet greener and more vibrant on Tuesday.

“Everyone must contribute towards a greener and more lively Earth,” he stated.

On the occasion, CM Saha inaugurated the ‘QR Codes for Flora’ initiative under the EcoClubs for Mission LiFE program at Amtali Higher Secondary School. This nationwide initiative, launched as per the call of the Union Ministry of Education, is being implemented in schools across the country, including those in Tripura.

As part of the week-long activities, the campaign involves tagging various plants within school campuses with QR codes. These QR codes will provide detailed information about each plant, helping students learn more about biodiversity and promoting awareness about ecological conservation.

CM Saha lauded the initiative as a meaningful step towards integrating environmental education with technology and urged students and teachers to take an active part in protecting the environment.

CM Saha also inaugurated the newly constructed building of the Higher Secondary School in Amtali and emphasised the state government’s commitment to holistic educational development.

The event was marked by enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, and local residents. Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister emphasised the government’s commitment to holistic educational development.

“Education is the foundation of a strong and progressive society. Our government is focused on providing better learning environments and modern facilities to ensure the overall growth of students,” said CM Saha.

The Chief Minister also highlighted ongoing efforts to improve the quality of education through infrastructure, teacher training, and digital resources. (ANI)
