Telangana: CM’s Relief Fund helps couple to bear COVID-19 treatment expenses post pandemic

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], May 6 (ANI): As people were suffering from COVID-induced adversities, Chief Minister’s Relief Fund in Telengana became quite helpful to the needy.

The fund was intended to help the people in distress like inability to afford expensive medicare, loss of life, property or livelihood due to natural calamities etc. Post-pandemic, the fund helped one such couple in Telangana to bear the expenses for COVID-19 treatment.

Talking to ANI, Keerti Ramaya Madhu, a beneficiary, said, “I was suffering from COVID-19 and was admitted to a private hospital where my treatment cost me about 5 lakh. When I came to know about the CM’s Relief Fund from a known person, I filled out an application and was happy to receive an amount of Rs 1 lakh.”

He appreciated the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government to initiate such a relief fund as his own community was unable to provide him with any relief in during these challenging times.

Keerti Ramaya Madhu’s wife Yadamma said, “she received 1 lakh rupees from the relief fund which relieved her from debt, which she borrowed at a high rate of interest when her husband was hospitalized.”

“None of her relatives or the communities helped her. She was pleased by the aid of the Government, which not only promised but fulfilled it,” she added.

While thanking CM KCR, Yadamma said, “he is a godsend in our lives.” (ANI)
