Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], October 5 (ANI): Congress leader Sachin Pilot on Sunday defended his party leader Rahul Gandhi, saying it is wrong to personally attack him just because he is asking tough questions and holding the government accountable.

He reiterated that the Congress Party is committed to a nationwide campaign against alleged vote theft.

Speaking to ANI, Pilot said, “Ever since Rahul Gandhi exposed the large-scale ongoing vote theft and brought it to light, the government has been trying to target Rahul Gandhi. He has very clearly demonstrated how vote theft is systematically happening, and people behind this are protected by the Election Commission… I think it is wrong to personally attack him just because he is asking tough questions and holding the government accountable.”

He added, “Rahul Gandhi and the Congress Party are fully committed to fighting these forces, and the Congress Party will run a major campaign across the country on the issue of this vote theft. The people have also decided that the government and the Election Commission should be held accountable.”

Earlier, Pilot accused the Election Commission of failing to conduct an investigation even after repeated complaints of voter list manipulation, alleging that constitutional institutions were being deliberately weakened.

Congress’ General Secretary in charge of Communications, Jairam Ramesh, on Saturday claimed irregularities in the final electoral roll after the Special Intensive Revision of the list in Bihar.

Ramesh alleged that 247 voters were found in a single household, and a person’s name appears three times on the same booth.

Alleging that the SIR was orchestrated at the behest of the ruling regime, he called the Election Commission the BJP’s “B-team”.
