Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], June 17 (ANI): After igniting a buzz regarding a possible split in the Samajwadi Party, Uttar Pradesh Minister and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party chief Om Prakash Rajbhar on Wednesday intensified his attack on Akhilesh Yadav over the issue.

Rajbhar’s reply comes in the context of recent remarks by Akhilesh Yadav, who had earlier hit back at the SBSP chief, taking a sharp dig and questioning the motive behind the statement.

“Hey Akhilesh Yadav ji, I’ve just mentioned Ram Gopal Yadav ji’s letter for now. If I write down the names of the sinners involved in the mining scam and Gomti River Front, it would cause an earthquake. The entire Uttar Pradesh knows who is the mastermind behind the red-cap wearing corrupt folks? And everyone knows who Ramgopal Yadav is compromising and making deals to save,” said Om Prakash Rajbhar.

Earlier in the day, Akhilesh Yadav, while replying to Om Prakash Rajbhar’s remarks hinting at an internal split within the Samajwadi Party said, “Dana aur gana kab tak chalega yeh afsana (how long will their ‘benefits and songs’ continue).”

Rajbhar on Wednesday claimed that a “major political realignment” is unfolding in the Samajwadi Party and further saying that the party is headed for a split internally. Rajbhar asserted that political developments in Uttar Pradesh have now taken centre stage ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections.

Speaking to ANI, Rajbhar alleged that individuals join political parties based on personal interest, while making a pointed remark on alleged outreach involving Samajwadi Party leaders.

“Only when someone is ready to be bought, people will buy them. Don’t keep your attention only on Maharashtra; it is UP’s number now,” Rajbhar said.

These remarks come at a time when there is already buzz related to a split within the Shiv Sena (UBT) MPs, and 20 Trinamool Congress MPs’ merger with the Nationalist Citizens Party of India. (ANI)
