Maharashtra : Second wave yet to settle! 4 thousand plus fresh infections today

Mumbai – Maharashtra on Friday (10th Sep 2021) reported 4154 new covid-19 infections with 4524 recoveries and 44 fatalities. With new infections, recoveries and fatalities in last 24 hours active cases in the state stands at 49,812.

Since June this year, new infections in the state are under 10 thousand mark. Though, the state is still reporting up to 5 thousand fresh cases daily, which can be seen as corona virus ‘deadly’ second wave has not fully settled yet, experts say.

Maharashtra is the worst corona hit state in the country with 64,91,179 overall infections. Recovery rate in the state stands at 97.05 percent with 62,99,760 overall corona recoveries,. Maharashtra reported 138061 covid-19 fatalities since the pandemic began, which is highest in the country.

As the state is still combating with covid-19 second wave, experts have warned with possibility of third wave of infection.

As there is possibility of surge in covid-19 cases during festive season, state government has asked its citizens to follow covid-19 related precautions.
