Madhya Pradesh: Fire breaks out in Guna cloth market; no casualties reported

Guna (Madhya Pradesh) [India], October 6 (ANI): A fire broke out in a cloth market in Guna, Madhya Pradesh, engulfing a godown above Yashopant Saral, in the early hours of Monday.

Firefighting operations are underway, with three fire brigades and two fire tankers deployed to control the blaze.

On the situation, Guna SDM Shivani Pandey said, “About an hour ago, we received information that the godown above Yashopant Saral had caught fire. The fire brigade was immediately alerted. Three fire brigades, along with two fire tankers, were working to extinguish the fire. Fortunately, no one was inside. The lights were cut off as a safety measure. The fire has been brought under control. A shop selling plastic items and Diwali decorative items was also engulfed. The cause of the fire is still unclear. An investigation will be conducted to determine the cause.”

No casualties have been reported as the godown was unoccupied at the time. As a precautionary measure, the electricity supply to the area was cut off.

An investigation will be conducted to determine the origin of the blaze.

Firefighting efforts are ongoing to fully extinguish the flames and prevent further damage. (ANI)
