New Delhi [India], September 17 (ANI): Delhi LG VK Saxena inaugurated the Delhi Development Authority’s “Aanandita Park” DDA Greens near Vijay Ghat on Tuesday and praised the DDA for their work over the past six months and announced that the park is now officially open for visitors.

Speaking to ANI, Delhi LG said, “6 months ago, this place was very unclean and unfit for visitors. We decided to develop it. DDA has worked excellently in the last 6 months and today this beautiful park has been inaugurated and is open for visitors.”

“Other places in Delhi are also being developed on similar lines so that Delhi continues to remain a beautiful city. Many dignitaries come here on October 2 to pay respects to Mahatma Gandhi,” said the Delhi LG.

Earlier in the day, Delhi LG announced decisions to address long pending greviances of lakhs of residents of Delhi living in areas away from limelight.

“On the occasion of the birthday of Hon’ble PM, Shri Narendra Modi Ji announced decisions that will address long pending greviances of lakhs of residents of Delhi living in areas away from lime light,” posted LG Saxena on X.

On the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena also announced the recording of ownership rights for agricultural land in urbanised villages of the capital based on inheritance.

According to an official release, this decision will positively impact the lives of millions of Delhi residents and address a long-pending demand from people who have been denied their rightful inheritance since 2010.

LG Saxena, who has been regularly visiting villages in the capital, received this demand and related grievances in every village he visited. Several civic organisations have also made similar demands.

The release noted that during a ‘Samvaad’ held at Raj Niwas with residents of the capital’s villages, mutation emerged as the primary concern. A delegation of all seven MPs from Delhi had met the LG and submitted a representation on the issue.

The LG also laid the foundation stone for 41 new projects and inaugurated 7 projects across 18 villages in North-West Delhi under the Dilli Gramodaya Abhiyan (DGA). During the event, the Namo Drone Didi Scheme and domestic PNG connections in 21 villages of North-West Delhi were also inaugurated.

The release highlighted that, to date, 573 projects worth Rs 523 crore have been sanctioned, with funds of about Rs 960 crore transferred to the DDA for development works in various villages.

“Of these, 89 projects are being executed by the DDA. While the DDA is the nodal agency, it is working in collaboration with various civic agencies like the MCD, I&FC, etc., to implement the projects effectively,” it said.

Earlier this month, the LG launched 22 projects in 18 villages in South-West Delhi, while last week he laid foundation stones for 47 projects in 29 villages in North Delhi.

The development works launched today will cover villages in North-West Delhi under the subdivisions of Kanjhawala, Rohini, and Saraswati Vihar.

The foundation stone was laid for several projects in these villages, including the renovation, repair, and upgrade of chaupals/public buildings/baarat ghars/community halls, road/lane and drainage improvements, and the repair and renovation of cremation grounds. (ANI)
