Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], September 15 (ANI): Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury slammed West Bengal Chief Minister and said that no one can solve a problem by “deceit.
This came following the West Bengal CM’s surprise visit to the protest site to meet the junior doctors and her proposal to hold a meeting at her residence with them to hear their demands, on Saturday. However, the meeting was called off following Banerjee’s refusal to do a live telecast of the meeting, citing the ongoing legal proceedings of the case in the Supreme Court.
Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, Chowdhury said Banerjee doesn’t have the courage to keep aside the demands made by the protesters of the rape and murder case at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College, and that she could be clever to manoeuvre around it but would not succeed.
“If someone thinks that we will solve the problem with this deceit, then it is not a solution; rather, it is a substitute for a solution and at the most, it creates complications. We are well aware of the tactics Mamata ji was using yesterday,” he said.
“She now doesn’t have the courage to keep aside the demands made by the protesters. She can be clever to manoeuvre around it, but she will not succeed,” Chowdhury added.
The West Bengal CM further requested the doctors to cooperate and assured them of providing them with a recording of the meeting.
“I assure you that whatever recording will be done, it will be given to you. Accept my request and join the meeting. If you people do not want to come to the meeting, then please come inside the residence, have tea and then proceed to leave,” said Banerjee.
On Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s ‘I am going to resign from the CM position after 2 days’ remark, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said that it was his will and that if he could be the CM in jail then he could remain the CM outside as well.
“It is his will; if he can be the CM in the jail, he can remain the CM outside as well. Maybe there are other matters that are more serious that need to be addressed,” Chowdhury said.
Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal said on Sunday that he will resign from the position of Chief Minister after two days and won’t sit on the chair of CM until the public of Delhi declares him “honest.”
Kejriwal further said that if the public votes for him, it will give him a certificate for his honesty. He also said he would ask for early polls along with the state of Maharashtra. (ANI)
