Amritsar (Punjab) [India], September 9 (ANI): In a rapid action, the Border Security Force (BSF) troops on Monday recovered 1.180 kilogrammes of suspected heroin in the border area of Amritsar district.
Based on reliable information from the BSF intelligence wing about the presence of narcotics in the border area, the BSF troops promptly launched an extensive search operation in the suspected area, the BSF said in a statement.
At about 05:30 pm on Monday, the troops successfully recovered two packets of suspected heroin (gross weight: 1.180 kg), which were wrapped with yellow adhesive tape, and steel rings were found attached to each packet.
This recovery took place in a farming field adjacent to the Daoke village in the Amritsar district.
Once again, reliable input and prompt response from BSF forces prevented drugs from being smuggled over the border. (ANI)
